2007 Balloon Rally Band Info The aTomix This blues quartet is sure to please all types of blues fans. The Atomix consist of Kevin Stellman on lead guitar, Scott Reaves on bass, Tom Dewitt on guitar and vocals, Connie Tomski on keyboards and vocals, and the ubiquitous Jack Faville handling the rhythm section. These guys have played throught the midwest in a myriad of great bands, and the rally is happy to have this mix together for the event! Backstreet This jumpin' combo is a new addition to the rally lineup, so be sure to catch them while you can! These happening groovy guys have played the central Wisconsin club circuit for years and have a hip following wherever they go. Playing the fab hits you're sure to remember, be sure to bring your dancing shoes, because the rally will be jivin' like crazy, man! Brother Tedd & the Jumpship Blues Band All aboard the Jumpship for an excellent blues experience! This Stevens Point area blues combo belts out your favorite Chicago style blues and blues rock! If your taste runs to killer guitar, wailing harp, and a cool blues groove, then be sure to check out Jumpship Blues Band. Tom Dewitt, Jack Faville & Connie Tomski This acoustic trio is made of members from The Atomix, and have played music collectively for decades. Jack and Connie formerly of Roger and the Ramjets have joined forces with Tom Dewitt and will entertain for you in the breakfast tent on Sunday. Sunday is one of the best kept secrtets of the rally, so be sure to check it early for a delicious breakfast, possible balloon launch, and great music! Jimmy J Jazz Band Jim Jinkerson on keyboards, Todd Wenzel on tenor sax, and Bryan T White on guitar and vocals. Providing a unique mix of Jazz, Blues and Funk. Todd has performed all over the world with a mix of swing and small ensemble bands for the United States Army Guard Band. Jim has played with Cold Shot, The Shadows , and Boilerhouse Blues Band, along with various commercial and cd projects. Bryan is new to the music scene, but will provide a wicked imatation of Superman. Kosmic Sounds Some tasty music in between acts for Saturday's Beer Tent acts, Kosmic Sounds will be sure to entertain, educate and entrall you. Instrumentalist Bob Kosmoski will be sure to get your ears perked and your toes tapping! The Lizardz The Lizardz hail from central Wisconsin and have played the CMN Balloon Rally for the last four years. A crowd favorite, this six-piece group plays a wide variety of tasty rock tunes, ranging from Janis Joplin to the Rolling Stones and everything in between. For the music fan or the dancing fan, the Lizardz are sure to please! Check out the full band website at: www.thelizardz.com! The Pistols at Dawn Three comrades met to play some music. Set up in a spider-infested basement, they jammed. Drummer, Alex Smith, and guitarist, Alexei Broner, had been working on a song in the style of Dick Dale. Tim brought his Farfisa organ and suggested a bridge and the sound was born. The Pistols at Dawn provide a sonic assault that will make you dance with tears in your eyes. By infusing catchy dance beats with dramatic flair, they might just knock you off that bar stool and on to the dance floor. Check 'em out here! Relentless Relentless is also a long time favorite of the central Wisconsin area. Ron and Lu Music for You This family band consists of Ron Mancl on the concertina; LuAnn on the drums,son, Brandon playing trumpet and nephew Jason Gildenzopf playing the tuba. Even though the band has only recently been formed, they have all played polka music together in the Wisconsin Rapids parade for the last seven years. They take bookings for two, three or four piece. The entire family enjoys getting together to play polka music. For bookings call 715-886-4927. Ska'tTsmen SLM Not just a jam band, not a raggae band, or a jazz ensamble, or a rock band, but all fused together to form the original sound of SLM. Every song has a uniquness to it. You will hear bluesy flowing guitar solos to shredding headbanging licks from song to song. With an appreciation for all styles of music, they are trying to create something for everybody. Thursday's Project Thursday's Project was formed just over three years ago, with Dan Bixby playing lead guitar and John Botcher playing bass. The two jammed on some favorite songs trying to find a voice musically, and invited others to join in. After about a year Terry Radtke joined in on drums and stayed in that position. With a solid three-piece band, the jamming turned to collaborating. At that point, Matt Renner was asked to join in. The new four -piece band tried a few covers, however, the real sparks were in the original tunes. A new CD hopefully will be available in December.
